On the morning of May 8, at approximately 1:02 a.m., Ukiah Police Department (UPD) officers were advised that UVFA was responding to a structure fire that was located at 1380 S. State Street. UPD officers arrived while the roof of the residence was fully engulfed in flames. They saw the fire spreading to an attached carport. Officers heard a woman yelling for help and found a woman located inside a room that was within the carport. It appeared she was unable to exit the room, so the woman attempted to get the officers’ attention by waving her arms through a window.
