A house and vehicle were destroyed in a fire early Saturday morning in Ukiah, the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority reported. Firefighters dispatched to the home in the 1300 block of South State Street shortly after 1 a.m. May 8 found the home and a SUV “fully involved in flames,” and at least one officer from the Ukiah Police Department on-scene helping a woman escape the building through a window. “She had been sleeping at the time of the fire, and I believe they had to knock down a fence to reach the bedroom window,” said Corippo, adding that there were no other people or animals inside the home. “Luckily, the bedroom was the least-affected part of the house.” The UPD said two officers, Max Osw
