UNC scored 100 points for the first time since the 2024-25 season in a 109-70 victory against Wofford at the Smith Center Friday night.
The Tar Heels’ last time reaching 100 points in regulation came on Nov. 15, 2024 against American, though they would reach 100 again in overtime against Boston College later that same season. The 109 points marked UNC’s highest scoring game since scoring 113 points against NC State in 2019.
Friday night, the offensive explosion was aided by an efficient shooting performance (38-73, 52.1%). Freshman Maximo Adams recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, ending the night as the team’s leading rebounder. Terrence Brown scored a season-high 21 points on a 7-11 shooting performance. Wofford’s Cutter Sisk led all scorers with 27 points.
Friday’s win also snaps UNC’s bizarre two-game losing streak at home against Wofford. The Terriers had won in the Smith Center in the 2018-19 season and then again in Carmichael Arena during the 2019-20 season.
Now 2-0, the Tar Heels will be back in action when they host Wyoming at the Smith Center Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.
