ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A jury has found a man guilty of stabbing the mother of his child to death last year during an argument on Rochester’s northwest side.
Javier Justice was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter and aggravated criminal contempt on Monday in the death of 31-year-old Abigail Perez. It happened on Spencer Street on Aug. 14, 2025.
Rochester Police say that, while Justice was stabbing Perez, another man intervened and shot him. That man was not charged and cooperated with the investigation. Both Justice and Perez were taken to the hospital, where Perez died soon after arriving.
Justice was also charged with murder, but was not convicted of that charge. He will be sentenced on Dec. 3.
