Beyond the Gates star Sean Freeman is attending the 53rd annual Daytime Emmys and opened up about what being a part of the awards means to him.
While attending the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards red carpet, Freeman was interviewed by Tony Moore of Dishin’ Days about his experience at the Emmys and being part of such a groundbreaking show.
During the interview, Freeman was asked what it means to be at the award ceremony, to which the actor shared, “It means everything. I’m grateful, scared, nervous, excited; it’s so fulfilling, so rewarding to do the work every day, to be here, and to be recognized. It means everything.”
When the series started, Freeman admits he didn’t expect his relationship with Dani (Karla Mosley) to end up where it did. With that said, he doesn’t necessarily know if this means that they will be together forever. “Selfishly, I think that would be great, but I am also open to a roller coaster, but I’m rooting for them.”
When asked about a potential reunion with Ashley (Jen Jacob), Freeman avoided the question, simply saying, “You’re trying to get me in trouble.”

Beyond the Gates is the first new soap opera to be produced since 1999, when NBC created Passions. The soap is the first hour-long series to be focused predominantly Black family.
On the show, Freeman portrays Andre Richardson, an alleged playboy who finds himself immediately involved with Dani Dupree (Mosley). What started as just fun between the two characters transformed into a Vegas marriage that continues to this day.
Currently, Andre is unaware that Dani has cheated on him with her ex-husband Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), and a mysterious member of his past, Heather Armstrong (Ashley Jones), also known as The Impaler, has made it to Fairmount Crest.
