It’s game day, Bulls fans!
Another away game, already the third of the season, as Chicago head to TD Garden to take on the Boston Celtics. The Bulls narrowly lost to the Wizards, a game that could’ve gone a different way if a big call hadn’t been missed in the clutch.
Plus, the Bulls broadcast picked up some hardware, and we got our first look at Chicago’s G League roster.
Let’s talk Bulls basketball.
Windy City Bulls © Dennis Wierzbicki-Imagn Images The Chicago Bulls lost their 2026-27 home opener to the visiting Washington Wizards, 124-120. While the scoreline looks close, it was the result of a late Chicago comeback in the 4th quarter that made this one interesting. Chicago were attempting to overcome a 21-point deficit after allowing Washington to score 40 in the third quarter. And as we’ve seen before in the NBA, to pull off a comeback that big and that late, you need everything to go in your favor. The Bulls were getting that in the 4th, with Caleb Wilson, Norman Powell and Matas Buzelis combining for 30 points in the period. But right at the end, when all the shots were falling, Caleb Wilson took a desperation three over Anthony Davis with the team down five and 16 seconds left. If the shot went in, it would’ve been a one-possession game and put the pressure back on Washington. But because it didn’t, in fact, it was an airball that barely made it to the paint, the Wizards managed to hold on. Well, turns out a shooting foul should’ve been called on that play, and it wasn’t. According to the NBA’s Last Two Minute Report from the game, “[Anthony] Davis makes contact with Wilson’s (CHI) wrist, which affects his jump shot attempt.” That would’ve sent Caleb to the line for three free throws with 16 seconds left in the game. Nothing guarantees that Caleb would’ve hit all three, but he was shooting 82% from the line on the night, and maybe Tiago could’ve drawn up a play that gave Chicago another possession. It doesn’t matter now in the grand scheme of things, but when you need everything to go right during a comeback like that, this is one that went against the rookie who was having a great game.Last Two Minute report says Anthony Davis should have been called for a shooting foul on Caleb Wilson's three-point attemptWould have put Caleb on the line for 3 FTs down 5 with 9.5 seconds to go in last night's loss pic.twitter.com/hAMFmPv2EC

— Windy City Bulls (@windycitybulls) October 25, 2026 A lot of these guys we saw in action during the NBA preseason, and we might even see Dailyn Swain and Noa Essengue get sent down for some reps. One name not on the roster that we expected to see is Brandon Boston Jr., who signed with Trabzonspor for a much bigger role than he would get in the NBA system.Brandon Boston Jr. turned down multiple EuroLeague offers to pursue an NBA opportunity ahead of the 2026-27 season, per sources. After the Chicago Bulls' exit, he opted for a major role at Trabzonspor, which aims to compete for the BCL title this season.
