VENTURA, Calif. (KEYT) People walking in the Ventura Harbor Village may pass by a new mural.
Artist M.B. Hanrahan just signed her name to her finished work of art between Coastal Cone and The Parlor.
The mural shows a gray whale and other animals within its outline along with signs pointing to Ventura's sister city Loreto, in Baja California.
It also has a QR code to donate to the mural project.
Hanrahan helped paint a similar whale mural in Loreto thanks to the cultural exchange.
Former councilmember Carl Morehouse chairs the San Buenaventura Sister City Association and hopes people who appreciate the work will help raise the $3,000 needed to cover the project's expenses.
Both communities share environmental concerns and both are home to Missions.
The sister city website includes information about trips, student exchange programs and whale migrations.
