ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Teachers Association criticized the current Rochester City School District administration in a recent Facebook post.
highlighted what the association called inadequate services for students, a lack of school safety and the district’s inability to attract and keep teachers.
Adam Urbanski, president of the Rochester Teachers Association, attributed these issues to the performance of Superintendent Dr. Eric Rosser.
“We do not have three years to wait and we do not want to talk about a strike. So, the only recourse we then have is to have a vote of no confidence. Because he is not only not allowing the buck to stop with him. But he is saying that he will not get involved in negotiations,” Urbanski said.
District officials said they remain committed to reaching a new contract agreement with the teachers association. Officials said they have presented proposals and are still waiting for a formal response from the Rochester Teachers Association.
