She won the event in 2:09.80, a solid time that currently ranks 11th in the country. However, after the swim, she was elated, and her entire team cheered and embraced her when she got out of the pool. She had set the goal of breaking 2:10 in this event for herself and hit that goal seemingly ahead of schedule.
However, her mindset approaching the race said a lot. Before each of her races, Redman tells herself, “Do your best, go your best time”. Whether that is actually her goal every time she jumps in the water, this time the positive self talk seemed to work out.
