One person died after being struck by two vehicles on Friday evening in far suburban Sugar Grove, authorities said.
The Sugar Grove Police Department said around 9 p.m., officers responded to an accident involving injuries near Route 47 and Cross Street. When officers arrived, they found a 29-year-old man who had been hit by two vehicles while walking along Route 47.
Officers performed CPR on the victim, who died from his injuries at the scene. The victim’s name was being withheld on Saturday morning while authorities worked to notify his family.
Police said the roadway was closed for roughly four hours but has since reopened.
The crash remained under investigation as of Saturday morning.
