For the first time, Sam’s Club is including a charcuterie platter with its Thanksgiving Meal, which is beautifully arranged with cheeses, meats, crackers and spreads. The addition came after a survey of warehouse club members showed they wanted a little something to snack on before the main event.
Then, for its inaugural debut, there’s a boneless carver ham which adds an extra protein option to the table. Because, after all, not everyone is a fan of turkey.
And finally, brace yourselves for the new turkey gravy. When I tell you this stuff tastes homemade and so, so good—believe me. Even if you use this gravy as a vehicle for every other meal component, it’s worth it.
What to Look Forward To
After tasting each dish, I have to say that aside from the turkey gravy, the turkey and ham were my next two favorite components. The turkey has a mouth-watering smoked flavor that’s just right, and the ham has that salty-sweet balance that works so well for Thanksgiving. Pro tip: Put a few slices of ham between two yeast dinner rolls, smeared with a bit of mustard from the charcuterie tray—heavenly.
Hands-down my favorite side is the mashed potatoes, which taste homemade and have no lumps (an important characteristic in my house).
