Elaine Hendrix is reminding The Parent Trap fans that Meredith Blake might have been the real victim all along.
Nearly three decades after playing the scheming stepmother-to-be in Disney’s 1998 film, Hendrix is revisiting her character’s questionable villain status in a hilarious new Instagram Reel.
The 55-year-old actress jumped on the popular social media trend where users pretend they’re being interviewed for a dramatic Netflix documentary, complete with serious expressions and ominous violin music.
Wearing the same black workout ensemble her character famously sported during the movie’s disastrous camping trip, Hendrix sat down and prepared to recount Meredith’s traumatic experience with a pair of mischievous twins.

The onscreen text read, “Me preparing for a Netflix documentary about two twins who switched places, filled my backpack with rocks, put a lizard on my head and floated me into a lake to sabotage my engagement…all while my Fiancé forgot to mention there were TWO of them and I unknowingly asked their mother to design my wedding gown.”

Her caption read, “And somehow I’m the villain?! ?”
Fans absolutely loved the callback.
“Meredith Blake was just a woman trying to get married ??,” one fan wrote.
“NORMALIZE BEEFING WITH 11 YEAR OLDS???,” a second shared.
A third commented, “Now that I’m older… I realize Meredith was just a young woman caught up in some messy stuff ???.”
Of course, longtime fans will remember that Meredith was engaged to Nick Parker (Dennis Quaid), the wealthy father of identical twins Hallie and Annie, both played by Lindsay Lohan. After discovering each other’s existence at summer camp, the girls switched places and devised a plan to reunite their divorced parents, Nick and Elizabeth James (Natasha Richardson).
Unfortunately for Meredith, that meant becoming the target of their increasingly elaborate pranks, including the unforgettable camping trip that ended with her floating into a lake.
