Grace Perry from Monument, Colorado, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Georgia for fall 2028. She confirmed to SwimSwam:
“I am so happy to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Georgia’s Swim & Dive team! After a few very exciting days, I’m thrilled to finally share this. First off, I would like to thank Coaches Stefanie, Fernando, and Jerry from UGA for believing in me and being truly kind throughout this difficult process. Thanks to the Georgia girls for being welcoming and friendly. Also, I would like to thank my coaches from the Falfins, especially Coaches Jorge and Tristan, for helping me get to this point in my swimming journey. Next, I would like to thank my mom and dad for all the sacrifices they’ve made and all the support they’ve given me. Lastly, thank you to my sisters Megan and Abigail for their good examples and for leading the way. GO DAWGS!!”
A junior at Lewis-Palmer High School, Perry trains year-round with Falfins Swimming in Colorado Springs and specializes in sprint free and fly. She was one of our “Best of the Rest” recruits from the Way Too Early list of top girls’ swimmers in the high school class of 2028.
Perry was a two-time individual champion as a sophomore at the 2026 CHSAA Girls 4A State Championship. She won the 200 free with a lifetime best of 1:48.18 and the 100 fly with a PB of 53.89. She also anchored the winning 200 free relay (22.66) and the runner-up 400 free relay (49.76).
At Boise Sectionals a month later, she won all 6 of her events and earned new best times in each of them: 23.06 in the 50 free, 49.84 in the 100 free, 1:47.66 in the 200 free, 53.31 in the 100 fly, 2:01.00 in the 200 fly, and 2:00.14 in the 200 IM. Moreover, she clocked relay splits of 22.53/48.98 in freestyle and 53.12 in butterfly. Those were huge year-over-year improvements, as a year earlier she had been 23.86/51.20/1:50.32 in the free, 55.46/2:05.14 in the fly, and 2:05.79 in the IM.
Perry kicked off 2026 long course season with PBs in the 50 free (26.76), 100 free (57.72), and 100 fly (1:02.74) at the Steve Drozda LC Shotgun in April. A month later, she improved those times to 26.26/56.92/1:01.02 at TYR PSS Sacramento. By the end of the summer, she had lowered her 100 free to 56.64 and also added PBs in the 200 free (2:03.57), 50 fly (27.67), and 200 IM (2:20.29), as well as a few off events such as the 50/200 back and 50 breast.
Perry will join #20 Madalyn Petty on the Bulldogs’ roster in 2028-29.
