The Maine Swimming Hall of Fame inducted five new members in its 2026 class. This year’s inductees are Nate Stevens, Nicola Mancini Colucci, Kristin Legere Moreau, David Chapow Bright, and Olivia Tighe.

The new inductees were celebrated yesterday at an induction ceremony in Portland, Maine.

Bright was inducted as a New England Masters and United States Masters Swimmer; Colucci was honored as an AAU, Interscholastic, and Intercollegiate Diver; Tighe, Stevens, and Moreau were all inducted as Age Group, Interscholastic, and Intercollegiate Swimmers.

Bright was a decorated Masters swimmer who recorded 86 top-ten national-ranking swims, as well as 67 top-ten national relay rankings. He also coached a pair of state championship-winning teams at Brunswick High School. His Masters swimming career also included three gold medal-winning swims at the 2019 Canadian Masters Swim Championships, setting three New England Masters Records.

Colucci was an All-American diver at Division II Bentley University, becoming the first to do so at Bentley. As a sophomore, she became a second- and third-team All-American after finishing 5th on 1-meter and 7th on 3-meter at the NCAA DII national championships. In high school, Colucci won three one-meter diving titles for Falmouth High School.

Moreau raced at Cape Elizabeth High School and later for Slippery Rock University. Moreau went undefeated in the 100 breast in dual meets throughout her four high school years. She was named an AIAW All-American in the all-breaststroke events in college and competed at the NCAA Division II Championships. She earned NCAA All-American status as the butterfly leg of the 200 medley relay.

Tighe was the first woman in Maine to crack 50 seconds in the 100 freestyle, clocking 49.87 in 2019; she later swam at Duke University for four years and spent her 5th year of eligibility at George Washington. In her final season, she won silver at the A10 Championships in 1:47.99 and picked up two golds and conference records as part of the George Washington 400 and 800 free relays.

Stevens is a decorated Maine swimmer, setting several age-group state records in both short-course yards and long-course meters, and won a gold at the Junior National Championships in the 200 breast in the summer of 2000. He went on to swim at the University of Arizona, becoming an All-American in the 100 breast and as the breaststroke leg of the 400 medley relay. Stevens then raced both the 100 and 200 breast at the 2004 Olympic Swimming Trials.
