EAST ROCHESTER, N.Y. — East Rochester High School celebrated the 25th anniversary of its instrumental music program with a special concert on Sunday.
The Roisin Dubh 25th Anniversary Concert brought together current students, alumni, families, and the community at the Historic German House. Instrumental music director Mark Gowman said seeing so many familiar faces made the anniversary even more meaningful.
“It’s actually, I was doing a really good job of sort of keeping the emotions in check leading up to this, and now that I’m seeing everyone, and seeing all the parents, and seeing all the former students, it’s a lot, it’s great, it’s a wonderful day,” Gowman said.
Gowman said a dozen alumni performed alongside current students, marking 500 performances since the program began.
