Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Ana Julia Aguiar from São José dos Campos, Brazil, has announced her intention to swim and study at the University of Louisville beginning next fall. She wrote on Swimcloud:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Louisville! I am so grateful for this opportunity and to all the people who have helped me along the way! Thank you to my family, friends, and coaches who have supported me throughout this process and all of the coaches and swimmers I met at Louisville who were so welcoming! GO CARDS! ”

A butterfly specialist, Aguiar trains with Minas Tenis Clube and represents Brazil internationally. She kicked off the 2026-27 short course season at the Brazilian Interclub Absolute Swimming Championship–José Finkel Trophy 2026 at the beginning of September, improving her SCM times in the 50 fly (27.71) and 200 fly (2:12.51) and finaling in the 50 fly (15th), 100 fly (12th), and 200 fly (3rd).

Aguiar wrapped up her long course season in June at the Brazilian Junior Winter Swimming Championships–Tancredo Neves Trophy. She won the 100 free (57.52) and 50/100/200 fly (27.89/1:01.17/2:15.29), was runner-up in the 50 free (26.97), and came in 3rd in the 200 free (2:06.08). Her 100/200 free times were lifetime bests. Her butterfly long course PBs (27.50/59.75/2:12.96) date from last season, and include her 50 fly performance at World Junior Championships.

Aguiar’s event lineup makes one think of recent Louisville stars Caroline Larsen, Julia Ogren, Ella Welch, Gabi Albiero, Christiana Regenauer, Tristen Ulett, Kelsi Worrell Dahlia, and Mallory Comerford. Her best converted times would have scored at the 2026 ACC Championships in the ‘B’ final of the 200 fly and the ‘C’ final of the 100 fly.

Best LCM times (converted):

50 fly – 27.50 (24.14) 100 fly – 1:00.13 (52.90) 200 fly – 2:12.96 (1:57.26) 50 free – 26.84 (23.45) 100 free – 57.52 (50.37) 200 free – 2:06.08 (1:50.70)

Aguiar will join the Cardinals’ class of 2031 with swimmers Aria Grossenbach, Maddy Brennan, Adelyn Espy, Afton Ruf, Logan Havermann, Lucy Parson, Riley Steinhilber, and diver Sarah Griffith.
