Michigan will also be hoping for a strong performance to help them move into wild card position, and Tennessee is looking to set themselves up well in their first match.

Louisville Louisville Tennessee Tennessee Virginia Virginia Michigan MichiganMatch Scoring
Winner — 4 points 2nd — 3 points 3rd — 2 points 4th — 1 pointCurrent Standings
The University of Virginia is currently the top-ranked team in the CSL after they won the 2nd match with the most points so far (666). Their women’s team is ranked #1 in the country, but the meet is scored as a combined men’s and women’s meet, which could hurt the Cavaliers if the meet is close or if they fall victim to any DQs.
Louisville comes in ranked 6th, the lowest of the three-point teams after they only scored 451.5 points at the 2nd CSL match, just 30 more than Michigan.
Michigan is the top ranked 2-point team, scoring 420.5 points at their first CSL match, and if they can finish ahead of Louisville tonight, it would go a long way to putting them in the post-season. As we saw in the last match, DQs can be catastrophic in the scoring race, particularly in the relays.
Finally, Tennessee is untested in the CSL lineup. They have strong sprint programs, which seem to be geared well to the CSL format, but as we have learned over the last three matches, the meet is long and endurance is key.

Jackpots happen when the athlete who wins beats any of the athletes by a predetermined amount outlined in the rules here. The winner steals the points of all athletes who they beat by the margin.
If they only beat the 8th place athlete by the designated amount, they will earn 10 points. If they beat the 7th and 8th place athletes, they will earn 12 points etc. We will do our best to track it in the live recap, but the meet moves fast.
Scoring Note: DQs
The 3rd CSL match brought DQs into the forefront in a massive light after Stanford came out on top of Cal following jackpot DQ points in both of the final relays.
If an athlete/team is disqualified, the winner of the event steals their points, even if they came in under the jackpot threshold. This is true for both individual and relay events.
Athletes to Watch
Women
Anastasia Gorbenko (LOU) — Gorbenko has experience in the International Swim League, which pioneered the idea of skins races. She did well in the 50 butterfly skins last match, and could be a serious threat in the race tonight, depending on what the 200 free relay winners choose. 100 breast, 200 breast, 100 IM Caroline Larsen (LOU) — Another skins contender, Larsen did very well at the first CSL match, bringing in 44 points, the 2nd highest total among Louisville women. 50 free, 100 IM McKenzie Siroky (TENN) — Siroky is coming off a phenomenal long course season that saw her take down Kate Douglass multiple times in the 100 breaststroke. This will be her first SCY meet since then, and if the skins race ends up being breaststroke, it will be an exciting battle. 100 breast, 200 breast Charlotte Crush (TENN) — This will be Crush’s first NCAA meet as the #2 ranked recruit in the class. 200 back, 100 fly, 100 IM Jessica Thompson (UVA) — Thompson is coming off a very strong exhibition meet for the University of Virginia, and will be trying to continue proving herself in her freshman campaign. 100 back Claire Curzan (UVA) — After nearly breaking her own NCAA record in the 200 backstroke in the 2nd match, Curzan is not racing the event at all tonight. She will instead be focused on the butterfly events, where she will still be a major threat to win. 100 fly, 200 fly Bella Sims (MICH) — Sims showed out in a huge way for Michigan in the first match, and one of our match takeaways was “Let Bella Sprint!”. We are kind of getting our wish tonight as she is entered in two 100s and will be a crucial component of Michigan’s relays as they try to finish ahead of Louisville and Tennessee 100 fly, 100 IM, 200 IM Hannah Bellard (MICH) — Hannah Bellard was Michigan’s 2nd highest point scorer at the last match, and is the CSL record holder in the 500 free. She will also be a major athlete to watch in the women’s 200 fly. 500 free, 200 flyMen
Nikita Sheremet (LOU) — One of the best athletes from the first CSL match, Sheremet swam ten 50 freestyles, and if Louisville wins the freestyle relay, he has more ahead of him tonight. 50 free Filip Kosinski (LOU) — Kosinski finished 2nd in both backstroke races to Indiana’s Raekwon Noel, and he will be trying to make those two 1st place finishes tonight. 100 back, 200 back Koby Bujak-Upton (TENN) — After a strong freshman season with the program, Koby Bujak-Upton will be opening his season tonight as the favorite to win the men’s 200 free. 200 free, 500 free, 100 IM Julian Koch (TENN) — Pitt transfer Koch will be swimming his first meet as a Volunteer tonight after an explosive sophomore season with the Panthers in 2026. He is only entered in one event, but he will likely swim both relays and could end up in the skins race. 100 free Spencer Nicholas (UVA) — Nicholas tied with Maximus Williamson for the 2nd most UVA points last match after he swam the freestyle skins for the Cavaliers. Freestyle feels like the most likely choice tonight, as well, which would make his contributions significant again. 100 IM Thomas Heilman (UVA) — Another 50 free skins race for the Cavaliers. Heilman won both butterfly events in the first match, setting CSL records in both. 100 fly, 200 fly Colin Geer (MICH) — The importance of skins cannot be overstated in these previews, and with freestyle feeling like a likely choice again tonight, Geer will likely be another major point threat after he made it to the 3rd round in the freestyle skins last match. He also had a massive 100 IM swim last match and is the CSL record holder. 100 fly, 100 IM Lorne Wigginton (MICH) — Our MVP for the first CSL match, Wigginton won three different individual events for the Wolverines, the 200 free, 500 free, and 200 fly. He will be racing all three again tonight. 200 free, 500 free, 200 flyRaces to Watch
Women
100 Breaststroke: Anastasia Gorbenko is one of the top breaststrokers in the NCAA, but McKenzie Siroky had a phenomenal summer and could challenge her for the top spot, particularly in the 100. 200 fly: With Claire Curzan out of the 200 backstroke and in the 200 fly, she will be racing Katie Grimes and Hannah Bellard for the top spot with Bellard as one of the top 200 butterflyers in the NCAA. 100 IM: Anastasia Gorbenko, Bella Sims, Teagan O’Dell, Charlotte Crush, Caroline Larsen … the women’s 100 IM is full of stars and it will likely be one of the most exciting women’s races of the meet. 500 free: Hannah Bellard and Katie Grimes will meet in the 500. Bellard has the CSL record and has been faster this season, and will be the favorite tonight, but Grimes could swim something fast if her summer was any indication.Men
200 Free: NCAA Champion Maximus Williamson is not racing the event, but Lorne Wigginton, David King, and Koby Bujak-Upton will still make it a very exciting race. 200 back: Filip Kosinski and David King will be racing the first men’s event of the session after both have already broken 1:40 this season. 100 IM: There are a number of swimmers in the men’s 100 IM who could challenge Geer for the title including Rian Graham (LOU), Bujak-Upton (TENN), and Spencer Nicholas (UVA). 100 free: Julian Koch vs Maximus Williamson could be one of the most exciting races of the meet, but if they end up in the skins event, they might not swim it, as we have seen happen in the past.SwimSwam’s Prediction
This could be a very close meet. The Virginia team feels untouchable still, which gives them the edge for SwimSwam’s pick of the champion.
Tennessee, Louisville, and Michigan will likely be a very close race, and could go in any direction. Louisville has beaten Michigan in the CSL format previously, and it feels safe to choose that result again. Tennessee is a total wild card with a number of new athletes this season that could swing the results in either direction.
