The Kardashians are back for Season 8, but their latest attempt at humor isn’t exactly winning over viewers.
The Hulu reality series returned Thursday, October 8, with an elaborate AI-generated opening sequence featuring Kris Jenner and the gang in various luxurious locations around the world.
Kris appeared aboard a yacht in St. Tropez, while Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker explored Japan. Khloé Kardashian went on safari in Kenya, Kendall and Kylie Jenner partied in Versailles, and Kim Kardashian hit the slopes in Switzerland. If you look closely, though, you’ll realize something doesn’t look… right.
Things got progressively stranger when the family reunited in Calabasas. Their AI-generated counterparts began glitching, with Khloé developing an oversized eye, Kim experiencing a bizarre change to her ear, and Kourtney’s face turning into a thumb.

Eventually, the real Kardashian-Jenners confronted their digital doubles. “Wait a minute, are we AI?” Kim asked. “Have we been AI this whole time?” The artificial version of Kris argued that AI would make filming easier, eliminating scheduling conflicts and the need for glam.
But the real Kris wasn’t having it. “I don’t know who you think you’re talking to,” she responded. “But this real family—real family—cannot be replaced.”
Khloé eventually hit a switch to eliminate the AI family, ending the spoof with the message, “The Kardashians: AI Could Never.”
Khloé shared the clip on her Instagram, appearing to be frustrated by viewers judging the intro before reaching its conclusion. “WATCH UNTIL THE END,” she wrote alongside the video. “Seeing people comment while only watching the first few seconds is frustrating but also typical these days ??.”

But even then, viewers made their thoughts clear.
“Using AI to make a point about being “anti AI” is so hypocritical,” one pointed out.
“So how many gallons of freshwater were wasted for this AI video???,” another asked.
A third said, “but what’s the point you guys still made a 2 minute Ai video, that statement could’ve been said any other way.”
“I started confused and ended confused,” another declared.
