Injury report for Alabama football ahead of Georgia showdown ...Middle East

News by : (The Crimson White) -

It will be an eventful Saturday in Tuscaloosa as Alabama football is set to face off against Georgia in a top-10 showdown with the Crimson Tide looking to stay undefeated.

Head coach Kalen DeBoer provided updates Monday and again on Wednesday’s SEC coaches’ teleconference, and the initial SEC availability report was released Wednesday evening. Here is the latest injury report for the Crimson Tide.

Newest updates

Josh Ford, tight end

The Oklahoma State transfer broke his arm in the Mississippi State game but had surgery the next day and somehow has a chance to play on Saturday. DeBoer said Wednesday that Ford is still in the mix for Georgia and the coach was “optimistic” about his status.

“He’s determined to get on the football field,” DeBoer said. “Actually, progressing along fairly well right now. We’ll kind of see how the week continues for him.”

Jayvin James, offensive lineman

The starting right tackle did not travel to Mississippi State after a lower-extremity injury that forced him out of the South Carolina game. But James is not on the availability report and will seemingly make his return to the field on Saturday.

Justin Hill, linebacker

The sophomore edge rusher has missed the last two games with a foot injury suffered against Florida State and is listed as out again. DeBoer said he should return this season, but not against Georgia.

“Justin, just working back from his lower-extremity injury, he’ll be back this season, too, but more than likely not this week,” DeBoer said.

Desmond Umeozulu, linebacker

The South Carolina transfer remains out with turf toe and is expected to miss more time than Hill. He has been sidelined since the Florida State game, when he played a season-high 31 snaps before the setback.

“Desmond, he’s continued to work back, but he’ll likely not be ready for this week, and probably a couple more weeks yet,” DeBoer said.

Jorden Edmonds, defensive back

The freshman cornerback has been out since a broken foot in mid-August camp, but is listed as questionable for Saturday’s contest against the Bulldogs. However, DeBoer was still more cautious Monday than the initial report suggests.

“Jorden will still be out for quite a while yet, still,” DeBoer said. “There’s a chance he can come back here, even in a regular season. But it will be a little bit yet.”

Status unchanged

Cayden Jones, linebacker

The junior remains out for the rest of the 2026 season with an undisclosed injury. He has not appeared in a game this year and is listed as out again.

Jeremiah Beaman, defensive lineman

Beaman will miss the entire season after tearing an ACL in a late-August practice, the same knee that cost him most of 2025. He is listed as out.

Nick Sherman, defensive back

The junior-college transfer has been sidelined since a lower-extremity injury in Alabama’s second fall scrimmage on Aug. 20. He has not played this season, and there is no public timeline for his return.
