World Aquatics World Cup #2 – Tashkent

October 8-10, 2026 Tashkent, Uzbekistan SCM (25 meters) Meet Central Results Psych Sheets How To Watch Recaps Prelims: Day 1

The 2nd stop on the Silk Road Tour takes us to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where we are set up for a fun first finals session of racing.

This session will feature the fastest heats of both the women’s and men’s 400 freestyles, women’s 50 back, men’s 200 back, women’s 200 fly, men’s 200 back, women’s 200 fly, men’s 100 fly, women’s 200 breast, men’s 100 breast, women’s and men’s 50 free, and women’s and men’s 100 IM.

We begin with the fastest heats of the 400 freestyle, where Freya Colbert (3:56.71) and Carson Foster (3:36.07) come in with the target on their backs, hoping to bring home more World Cup hardware.

Marrit Steenbergen and Roos Vanotterdijk touched just 0.1 apart in the 50 back prelims to set up a highly anticipated battle for the podium. Blake Tierney delivered a strong 1:52.59 to take lane four in the men’s 200 back, though Pieter Coetze looms in the shadows, hoping to build off of his momentum from the first World Cup stop in Baku.

Ellen Walshe leads the women’s 200 fly field in 2:02.36, an event that will see only six swimmers racing. The men’s 100 fly this morning was all Chen Juner, who touched about three-quarters of a second quicker than anyone else in the field in 50.08.

Evgeniia Chikunova and Mona McSharry will look to deliver another strong 200 breast showdown, with Chikunova the top seed at 2:17.20. Caspar Corbeau was the only sub-57 100 breaststroker this morning on the men’s side in 56.92. However, a loaded field will not make things easy for him in the finals.

Kasia Wasick continued her strong campaign with a top-seeded 23.89 in the 50 free swim this morning. Isaac Cooper outpaced both Egor Kornev and Cam McEvoy to secure lane 4 in the men’s 50 free in 20.86.

Vanotterdijk leads the women’s 100 IM final after clocking 58.09 this morning, while Luke Barr aims to repeat as champion from last week and get his Tashkent trip off the right foot, leading the men’s 100 IM field in 52.48.
