HGTV Brings Back 2 Beloved TV Stars for ‘Rock the Block’ Season 8 ...Saudi Arabia

News by : (Parade) -

In the early 2000s, Paige Davis and Carter Oosterhouse became household names to millions of home-design TV fans. Now, both are heading to HGTV for a new challenge.

Davis and Oosterhouse are among the stars joining the next season of Rock the Block, which HGTV announced on Tuesday, Oct. 6, is slated to premiere in early 2027.

The upcoming seven-episode season will bring the competition to a new block just outside Nashville, Tenn., with Ty Pennington returning as host.

This time, two teams of returning Rock the Block all-stars will compete against two teams of what HGTV is calling “television design legends,” including Davis, Oosterhouse, Sabrina Soto and Anthony Carrino.

“Our viewers are Rock the Block superfans who tune in every season to see the best in home renovation and design,” Howard Lee, Chief Creative Officer, US Networks, Warner Bros. Discovery, said in the announcement.

“That’s why we’re bringing back all-stars who’ve already survived the high-stakes pressure of the block, pitting them against design legends who are new to the competition and ready to take them on,” Lee continued.

Davis, best known as the longtime host of Trading Spaces, will team up with Oosterhouse, the carpenter and designer who rose to fame on TLC’s Trading Spaces and went on to appear on shows including Carter Can and Red Hot & Green.

They won’t be the only familiar TV personalities making their Rock the Block competition debuts.

Soto, whose television credits include The High Low Project, will compete alongside Kitchen Cousins star Carrino.

On the returning side, 100 Day Dream Home stars Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt are getting another shot at Rock the Block. The married couple previously won season 2 of the competition.

Good Bones star Mina Starsiak Hawk also returns to the block, this time paired with Renovation Resort Showdown star Scott McGillivray.

The new season comes with another Rock the Block first. Although all four homes will have identical floor plans and square footage, each will feature a different exterior facade.

Each team will receive a $275,000 budget and seven weeks to transform its property. As always, the goal is to add the most value to the home, with the winners earning bragging rights and a street named in their honor.

The Nashville-area setting will also play a role, with HGTV promising Music City inspiration, Southern architecture and small-town living throughout the competition.

There’s already a sizable audience waiting to see what happens. According to HGTV, the most recent run of Rock the Block attracted 16.4 million viewers across linear television and streaming.

HGTV has not announced an exact premiere date for the new season beyond early 2027.
