Reef McMeeking looks to be in peak form with the Florida high school postseason meets around the corner.

The 15-year-old McMeeking clocked a personal best time of 53.90 in the 100 breast at the LBHS Patriot Invitational, moving into 1st in that event for the boys’ 15-16 age group this season and 34th all-time. His previous personal best was 54.30, set  last December, which ranks him 3rd all-time in the 13-14 age group.

In addition, McMeeking clocked two personal bests at the meet in the 200 free, which featured some of the best high school swimmers in Florida.

After producing a time of 1:41.30 in prelims, McMeeking shattered that in the final, touching the wall in 1:38.83 and moving into 2nd this season for the boys’ 15-16 age group.

McMeeking wasn’t the only swimmer to move up the national rankings.

Other standouts were:

In the girls’ competition, Keira Druck, a 15-year-old for Lake Brantley High School, clocked personal best times to win the 200 free (1:49.45) and the 500 free (4:54.70). In the girls 15-16 age group this season, Druck is 2nd in the 500 free and 5th in the 200 free. Also on the girls’ side, 17-year-old Blakely Hammel of Jacksonville Episcopal won the 200 free in 1:48.32 and the 100 fly in 56.15, both personal best times. In the girls’ 17-18 age group this season, Hammel is 1st in the 200 free and 10th in the 100 fly. Will McWard, a 17-year-old for Sanford Seminole, swam personal bests to win the boys’ 50 free (20.24) and the 100 fly (49.00). In the boys’ 17-18 age group this season, McWard is 2nd in the 50 free and 5th in the 100 fly. Evie Carnathan, a 16-year-old for Seabreeze, won the girls’ 100 breast (1:03.23) and the 200 IM (2:07.08) in personal best times. In the girls’ 15-16 age group this season, Carnathan is 2nd in the 100 breast and 11th in the 200 IM.
