Kimberly Wyatt, a member of the Pussycat Dolls, recently opened up about her hip replacement surgery. She posted a series of photos and videos of herself in the hospital, along with a story about her health journey.
“A few years ago, I could barely walk,” she admitted in the October 5 post. “For nearly two years, I limped through every day and barely slept because of the pain. I remember watching my children playing on holiday and being in too much pain to walk over to them. I just stood there. And I was scared.”

Wyatt went on to explain that she found out she needed a hip replacement. When reflecting on the photographs of herself in the hospital when she went in for the surgery, she said, “I look at that picture now, and I don’t really see the surgery. I see the strength. I used to think strength was pushing through. Taking the pain. Working harder. Not letting anyone see the cracks. But sometimes strength is letting someone put their hand on your back. Sometimes it’s admitting you’re scared. Sometimes it’s taking one really wobbly step when you have absolutely no idea what the next ten are going to look like.”
She concluded the post with, “I barely spoke about my hip replacement at the time. I’d spent my whole life being the strong, athletic one. My body was my instrument. Admitting it had broken down felt frightening. So I quietly got on with it. And tonight I think about where those legs are now. On a Pussycat Dolls Tour. After four major surgeries. Three Caesareans. One hip replacement. and somehow this body is still dancing.”
