Northwestern hosted Miami (OH) for a dual meet in Evanston on Saturday, defeating the RedHawks in both men’s and women’s scoring. Northwestern rolled over the Miami women 230-87, while the Miami men put up a pretty strong fight, falling to the Wildcats 187-130.

Northwestern senior Stuart Seymour was excellent on the day, first winning the men’s 100 back in 45.74. An great dual meet performance, Seymour’s time on Saturday was a little over a second off his career best of 44.55, which he swam at last season’s NCAAs.

Seymour then went on to take 2nd in the men’s 200 breaststroke with a new career best of 2:00.93. He was also great on the relays, leading the Northwestern ‘A’ 400 free relay off in 42.81, and leading off the ‘A’ 200 medley relay in 21.40. Both Wildcat relays put up strong performances for an early October dual meet. Following Seymour, Josh Staples (24.03), Connor Schuster (20.87), and Oli Kos (19.12) rounded out the rest of the medley relay, which finished in 1:25.42. In the 400 free relay, Schuster went after Seymour with a 43.89, then Caden Duncan split 42.57 on the 3rd leg, and Kos anchored in 43.96, putting the Wildcats into the finish in 2:53.23.

Miami (OH) junior Owen Hoban broke the pool record in the men’s 100 IM, stopping the clock in 49.84. Hoban was the only swimmer in the field to crack the 50-second barrier on Saturday. Additionally, Hoban was a triple event winner on the day, also winning the 200 fly and 200 breast. In the 200 fly, he swam a 1:46.44, touching the wall 1st by over 2 seconds. Hoban clocked a new career best in the 200 breast, finishing in 2:oo.23.

Oli Kos (Northwestern) was very good in the men’s 200 back, swimming a 1:42.24. Kos touched 1st by 3 seconds, and was within 3 seconds of his career best of 1:39.32.

On the women’s side, Northwestern freshman Flawia Kamzol was terrific in her debut for the Wildcats. Kamzol first won the women’s 100 back, swimming a 53.71 in her first yards 100 backstroke. She was even stronger in the women’s 100 fly, which she won in a speedy time of 52.76. A 58.90 LCM 100 flyer, Kamzol should be a huge addition for the Wildcats this season. Kamzol was also very good on the Wildcats’ ‘A’ 200 free relay, splitting 21.86.

Northwestern junior Zoe Nordmann was a double event winner on the day, taking the women’s 200 fly with a 2:00.49. Nordmann was just a touch off her lifetime best of 2:00.21. She then went on to win the 500 free in 4:51.05.

Lillie Nordmann, the older sister of Zoe Nordmann, competed in a pair of time trials at this meet. The older Nordmann was an All-American for Stanford during her collegiate career, which concluded in March of 2025. Since graduating from Stanford, Nordmann had only competed in two meets, a club meet in Palo Alto in February of this year, and a Sectional meet in Oceanside, CA in late February/early March of this year.

It appears Nordmann is training with her sister at Northwestern as a pro. She swam a pair of time trials on Saturday, including the 200 fly, where she set a new pool record with a 1:55.44. Her career best is 1:51.85, which she swam on February 1st of 2025. She also swam the 50 fly, where she clocked a 24.41.
