HILTON, N.Y. — Sunday was the Village of Hilton’s Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Out Game, where the Hilton Jr. Cadets Football and Cheerleading Organization raised money to support the Pluta Cancer Center.
The organization brought together football and cheerleading families for games, fundraising, and honoring those who’ve been impacted by breast cancer. Football players and cheerleaders wore pink wristbands, socks, and face paint to support the cause.
“About two months ago, we started working on getting things ready as far as what we wanted the boys to look like, what we wanted the girls to look like, how we wanted to honor those who have fought, survived, or passed on from breast cancer, and what we could do to help out our community by making a donation to Pluta Cancer Foundation from our 50/50 raffle,” said Shlynn Hodkinson, organizer of the Pink Out. Hodkinson said she’s currently battling cancer.
There were four football games, including flag football. The final game kicked off at 2:30 p.m.
