Big West Men's Soccer: UCSB 3, Utah Valley 2: Donovan Sessoms was involved in all three goals, setting up the first and scoring the next two, while a determined Santa Barbara defense staved off a late Wolverine rally.

"I mean, you saw [Utah Valley] run out at the starting lineup and it looked like it was six-two, six-three, six-four, six-two, there was one guy that was under six foot, and we came out and played a really good first half," UCSB head coach Tim Vom Steeg said. "We got the two goals; it's what we've been trying to do all year, we did some good things and buried a couple balls. The second half, it just got ragged, but at this point, we're just so desperate for a win to kind of get our season going in the other direction, and this is a team that, they haven't lost this year, so it was a huge win for us. The mindset was great, the mentality was good, we did the things we had to, and we did all of that without Steinar (Bjornsson). Donovan stepped up big for us."
UCSB improves to 5-3-3 on the year and 1-0-1 in league.
Big West Women's Soccer: UCSB 0, Cal Baptist 0: The UC Santa Barbara Women's Soccer team played California Baptist to a 0-0 draw on Saturday in-conference play, moving to 7-1-5 overall and 2-0-2 in Big West action. UC Santa Barbara generated a 20-3 advantage in shots and put six attempts on goal while holding CBU to no shots on goal. UC Santa Barbara recorded 10 shots in each half and limited the Lancers to no shots in the first half before the teams finished scoreless.
Big West Women's Volleyball: UCSB 3, Sacramento State 1: Gabi Martinez had a match-high 15 kills as the Gauchos improve to 4-0 in the Big West with the 4-set road win (28-26, 10-25, 25-10, 25-20).

The No. 13 UC Santa Barbara Men's Water Polo team earned its best win of the season as it stretched its winning streak to six games on Saturday. The Gauchos began the day with a top-10 win, taking down No. 9 San Jose State in overtime, 13-12, then ended the day with a second win over first-year squad No. 20 Saint Mary's, 14-8. Luigi Canepa was near-unstoppable again, scoring five times against the Spartans and one more against the Gaels. Charlie Johnson also had a six-goal day, tallying four against San Jose State, including the overtime winner, and two more against Saint Mary's.
