It’s been nearly 50 years since Elvis Costello released his very first studio LP.
The English singer-songwriter, 72, has scooped up a pair of Grammy Awards in the decades since — and to mark 49 years since My Aim Is True hit the shelves, a new expanded edition of the beloved album was just released.
And it’s an epic box set that spans across five CDs, according to Costello’s website. Here’s the breakdown:
Disc 1 — The 2026 remaster of My Aim Is True from the original 1977 analog master tapes Disc 2 — The Blue Print: Acoustic recordings and demos recorded before My Aim Is True Disc 3 — The Stranger In The House: How Declan MacManus became Costello in 28 songs Disc 4 — Becoming The Attractions: As they took charge of the My Aim Is True songs “and then went mad” Disc 5 — Covered In Clover: The first and last time Costello and Clover played My Aim Is True live in 2007The collection also includes a 72 page liner essay by Costello, along with unseen photographs, handwritten lyrics from his notebooks and diary entries from 1976 as he was making his debut album.
A 2026 remaster of the original album is included, while a 180-gram black-vinyl edition is due October 16, according to uDiscover Music.
Unfortunately, the box set has already sold out on Costello’s website — but luckily in this modern age, fans can listen to it all digitally via platforms such as Spotify.
