Alabama football will hit the road Saturday for a top-25 matchup against Mississippi State in Starkville.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer provided updates on Monday, and the initial SEC availability report was released Wednesday evening. Here is the latest injury report for the Crimson Tide.
Newest updates
Jayvin James, offensive lineman
The starting right tackle left the South Carolina game in the second half with a lower-extremity injury and was later seen in a walking boot. James is listed as out on the availability report.
DeBoer added Wednesday on the “Hey Coach” radio show that James is “working through it.”
Justin Hill, linebacker
The sophomore edge rusher missed the South Carolina game with a lower-extremity injury suffered against Florida State, and he remains out on the initial availability report.
DeBoer said Monday that Hill will continue to miss time, but not as long as teammate Desmond Umeozulu.
Desmond Umeozulu, linebacker
The South Carolina transfer remains out with turf toe, which kept him off the field against his former team. He had started the Florida State game and played a season-high 31 snaps before the setback.
“Both of them will continue to miss some time,” DeBoer said. “Justin will not be as long. Des will be a little further into the season.”
William Sanders, offensive lineman
The starting left guard also left the South Carolina game in the second half, this time with an upper-body injury. Sanders is not on the availability report, and DeBoer expects him to play.
Zavier Mincey, defensive back
Mincey dressed and went through pregame warmups against South Carolina but watched the game from the sideline in street clothes after an injury surfaced before kickoff. He is listed as probable for Starkville.
“Zay just had an injury that popped up during pregame,” DeBoer said. “But I would expect that he’s ready to go and play this weekend.”
Status unchanged
Cayden Jones, linebacker
The junior will miss the remainder of the 2026 season with an undisclosed injury. He has not appeared in a game this year and was listed as out again Wednesday.
Jeremiah Beaman, defensive lineman
Beaman will miss the entire 2026 season after tearing an ACL during a late-August practice; the same knee cost him most of last year.
Jorden Edmonds, defensive back
The former 5-star recruit from Georgia suffered a broken foot in mid-August fall camp, underwent surgery and has yet to play this season. He remains out week to week, with DeBoer saying earlier in camp that Edmonds would be “a little bit later through the season.”
Nick Sherman, defensive back
The junior-college transfer has been sidelined since a lower-extremity injury in Alabama’s second fall scrimmage on Aug. 20. He has not played this season, and there is no public timeline for his return.
