On Friday (Oct. 2), two-time Grammy-nominated global girl group KATSEYE unveiled a high-octane new remix of their hit WILD single, courtesy of Brazilian singer, producer and DJ Pedro Sampaio. Amplifying the baile funk influences and turning up the percussion, Sampaio’s remix also brings along two other Brazilian acts: funk singer/songwriter Mc Gw and underground queer femme DJ Clementaum. Both artists appear throughout the remix, but they truly take the reins in the outro.

The original version of “Hootie Frutti,” which arrived Aug. 14, wore its Brazilian funk influences on its sleeve, with Daniela delivering the intro in Portuguese. “Eu sei que tu gosta da fruta, mas essa é diferente,” she declares in the intro, roughly translating to “I know you like the fruit, but this one is different.” Since its release, “Hootie Frutti” has peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the group’s sixth consecutive top 40 single.
“Hootie Frutti” appears on WILD, the group’s third EP, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 with the biggest first-week units total for a female group in 18 years (170,000 units). The five-track set arrived on Aug. 14 via HYBE and Geffen Records. Two other Hot 100 hits appear on the EP: “Animal” (No. 24) and “Pink Up” (No. 28), the latter of which earned two nominations at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards for best K-Pop and best choreography.
KATSEYE will support WILD with their ongoing Wildworld Tour, which is set to kick off its U.S. leg at Miami’s Kaseya Center on Oct. 13. The trek will visit major cities including Los Angeles, Atlanta and Montreal, before concluding with a pair of dates at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes on Nov. 27 and 28. They wrapped their nine-date European leg on Sept. 17 at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena.
Last week (Sept. 26), the group made their Saturday Night Live debut as musical guests, with New York Knicks captain and point guard Jalen Brunson hosting for the first time. Later this month (Oct. 18), they will headline the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show alongside Megan Thee Stallion, Tate McRae and Megan Moroney, Billboard exclusively announced earlier this week.
