Is Beyond the Gates about to start exploring Smitty’s family, the Smiths? His portrayer, Mike Manning, just hinted at their impending arrival.
Manning joined the CBS soap opera Beyond the Gates at the series premiere in February 2025. Since then, little has been explored in Smitty’s family life, aside from the family he has created with his husband, Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon). Still, in a recent interview with TV Source Magazine, Manning hinted that could be changing in the near future.
When Manning was asked if viewers might learn more about where Bradley Smith came from, the actor evaded the question while also teasing that viewers are right to question his background, sharing, “I can’t say anything, but I can say that if you think we’re going to learn a little bit about Smitty’s family, I think you’re right.”
While Beyond the Gates hasn’t confirmed plans to introduce members of the Smith family, viewers have speculated that former All My Children and Melrose Place star Colin Egglesfield could be playing one after the actor was recently spotted on set and followed by multiple Beyond the Gates actors on social media.
