A bomb threat temporarily delayed a concert at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom Wednesday night.
According to Chicago police, officers were called to the music venue just before 7 p.m. after receiving a bomb threat.
Citizen App video showed patrons waiting to go inside for a scheduled Steve Lacy concert at the venue on Wednesday night, but an investigation revealed the threat was “not Bonafide,” and the concert was allowed to proceed, according to authorities.
The FBI released a statement after the incident, saying it was aware of an “unsubstantiated threat” and that it will continue to work with local and state law enforcement to investigate such threats.
“Hoax threats and swatting attempts are crimes that carry severe, long-lasting consequences, to include federal prison sentences, as well as state or local criminal charges,” the bureau said in a statement.
