Jost and Davidson purchased the decommissioned John F. Kennedy ferry at an auction for $280,000 in January 2022, intending to transform it into a destination for live entertainment. The duo hosted a one-night-only comedy show on the ferry on Sept. 17 in partnership with Snapple, where Davidson told People it’s been “fun proving people wrong.”
“We’ve been trying to tell people about how special this is for so long,” Davidson said.
Speaking about the show, Davidson called it “a real big opportunity.”
“We’re just happy everyone’s seeing what we saw in it when we bought it,” he said.
For Davidson, he hopes that his daughter, Scottie Rose, will also love the ferry one day.
“Oh, Scottie will inherit this one day,” he joked. “I’m very lucky and excited to be a dad. It’s been a real joy, and it’s awesome. And I can’t wait for her to come and see wacky stuff like this. That’s gonna be so cool.”
Jost quipped that he and Davidson owning the ferry will be on their “joint gravestone” that they’re committed to. “Like the people bullying me growing up, now I own the boat,” Jost said. “Try pushing me into the bathroom here now!”
