And yet, despite all that, they have an injured starter who’s just going to “find out” if he can pitch at full effectiveness tonight in an elimination game on the road. What a disaster.
I mean, truly. I appreciate the effort/guts to go out there and all, but does anyone feel the tiniest bit of confidence when you hear that the Cubs starter in just their SECOND playoff game of the year — a potential elimination game, no less —will have to “change a little bit” to be able to do what he wants to do? It’s horrible.
The Cubs have loads of problems beyond just not having a healthy, effective arm to throw tonight, but as we saw yesterday, an early hole can snowball. And this time, if the Cubs lose, they’re going home. Permanently.
