Xylem has appointed marine solution specialist Ecocoast as its Authorised Systems and Service Partner for the GCC. The partnership is said to strengthen Ecocoast’s environmental monitoring solutions portfolio across the GCC, through the integration of proven Xylem sensing technologies into the systems it supplies and services for clients across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.
According to a statement, Xylem instruments will be integrated with Ecocoast’s configurable data buoy platforms, delivering real-time environmental intelligence for marine and coastal applications.
Usually, marine projects are monitored through occasional manual sampling followed by lab result wait time. With the Xylem integration, the monitoring buoys provide continuous protection and alert the operator immediately. This helps early detection of oil spills and other emergencies, while keeping critical operations and the marine environment safe. Combining water quality, oceanographic and meteorological monitoring, the end-to-end solution supports ports, marinas, coastal developments, offshore operations, environmental compliance programmes and marine research initiatives, it added.
“This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver complete environmental monitoring solutions tailored to the needs of clients across the GCC. By combining Xylem’s sensing technology with our field-proven data buoy platforms and regional service capability, we are helping organisations access reliable environmental intelligence backed by teams that understand local operating conditions,” said Joachim de Jenlis, Chief Executive Officer of Ecocoast.
Ecocoast said that it has already demonstrated this integration capability through several regional deployments. At a water and power plant on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, Ecocoast locally assembled, configured, tested and commissioned a YSI DB1750 Multi Purpose Metocean Buoy, integrating an LDI ROW oil spill sensor and Campbell Scientific logger with cellular telemetry. Live data is streamed to Xylem’s YSI HydroSphere platform for remote monitoring.
Discussing Dubai, the company said it delivered a similar system for a major water utility, applying the same locally assembled, fully commissioned approach.
Supported by dedicated facilities in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, Ecocoast provides regional integration, deployment, maintenance and technical support across both its own technologies and partner solutions, the statement noted.
Ecocoast said that it also provided sensor repair and YSI DB1750 reconfiguration services for a private island development in Umluj, Saudi Arabia, alongside sensor servicing, repairs and annual maintenance contract calibrations for multiple clients in the UAE.
