Notably, Reddington also alluded to several talking points that have been circulating on social media platforms like TikTok since the trial began, including the notion that the timeline as it has been laid out thus far doesn’t make sense, the suggestion that blood in the room is inconsistent with the story that has been told previously and the possibility that Clancy is speaking from false memories.
This has already led to a wave of chatter online, especially for those who continue to suggest unverified theories that the father of the three children, Patrick Clancy, was somehow involved in their deaths. Currently, that doesn’t seem to be Reddington’s argument or part of his strategy; rather, he seems to be casting doubt on the narrative that has been shared in court up to this point.
Whether that will work in the long run remains to be seen. For now, no new trial date has been set. The next hearing will take place on Nov. 2.
