Fan-favorite professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, best known by his ring names of Neville in WWE and Pac in AEW, has died, the latter company has announced. At the time of his passing on September 27, Satterley was just 40 years old.
Celebrated for his energetic, high-flying style and electric intensity, Satterley’s career dates back to 2004 where he competed in a variety of independent promotions under the name Pac.
Billed as “The Man That Gravity Forgot,” he later joined WWE’s developmental territory NXT as the superhero-inspired character Adrian Neville in 2012. For the next six years, Satterley competed against some of the most established stars in the company at the time, including Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho and many more.
Upon leaving the company in 2018, Satterley returned to the indie circuit, eventually signing. up with up-and-coming promotion AEW upon the brand’s foundation in 2019. There, he reverted to his Pac ring name, becoming one of the company’s original breakout talents.
At the time of his death, Satterley had wrestled one final match against fellow WWE alum Andrade El Idolo at AEW’s All Out pay-per-view event on September 26.
“All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac,” AEW said in their announcement. “A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability.”
“Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history,” the company continued. “Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.”
A multi-time champion the world over, Satterley held many prestigious wrestling championships throughout his lifetime, including five championships in WWE and three championships in AEW.
