It only took 21 years, but Delilah has finally responded to the Plain White T’s.
The famous rockers teamed up with singer LØLØ for a new spin on their hit “Hey There Delilah,” turning the famously one-sided love song into a duet during a recent live performance.
Frontman Tom Higgenson began with the familiar opening verse before LØLØ stepped in as Delilah with a response of her own.
The lyrics went like this:
“Hey it’s Delilah, I’ve got so much left to sayBut when I listen to this song you wrote, you take my breath away and most of allEven more in love with you I fall, It’s all your fault”
The pair then came together for the song’s instantly recognizable “Oh, it’s what you do to me” refrain.

While fans may just be discovering the verse, LØLØ actually wrote her response, called “Hey It’s Delilah,” back in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown and went viral after sharing it on TikTok. Six years later, she finally got the chance to sing it alongside the band.
“21 years later and we finally get a reply from Delilah ??? the coolest thing to ever happen to me !!” LØLØ captioned a video of the collaboration.
Fans were feeling nostalgic in the comments, with many not believing it’s been that long since the song was released.
“Wtf you mean 21 years?!?!?! ????,” one person wrote.
A second commented, “They don’t make music like this anymore❤️?.”
“This is exactly how i imagined Delilah would sound,” another shared.
A fourth replied, “Wow…the closure we needed.???❤️.”
The story behind ‘Hey There Delilah’
Higgenson wrote “Hey There Delilah” after meeting runner Delilah DiCrescenzo, although the two were never actually a couple. The track first appeared on Plain White T’s’ 2005 album All That We Needed before becoming a massive mainstream hit.
It eventually spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned two Grammy nominations.

Who is LØLØ?
LØLØ, whose real name is Lauren Mandel, is a Canadian singer-songwriter who has built a following with her pop-punk and alternative sound. She began gaining attention online through covers and reimagined versions of popular songs on TikTok (including this one) before releasing more of her own music.
Her career has since taken her well beyond social media. LØLØ released her debut album, falling for robots & wishing i was one, in 2024 and has toured with artists including Boys Like Girls and New Found Glory.
As for Plain White T’s, the Illinois band continues to perform and release music more than two decades into its career.
