The fundraiser is especially personal for the team at Plaka, which said Bek once showed up for the restaurant when it needed support.
“If you’ve followed Ertan, you know how much he has done for small businesses and the people behind them,” the Plaka team wrote in the fundraiser. “We experienced that kindness firsthand.”
The restaurant said Bek came in, shared its food with his audience, and helped bring attention to the business. What began as a visit eventually became a friendship, according to the team.
