FAIRPORT, N.Y. — Oktoberfest kicked off Thursday night in Fairport.
The event runs through Saturday night at the Fairport Junction on Liftbridge Lane. Attendees can enjoy authentic German cuisine, polka bands and dancing, and lots of German beer.
Organizers said this is a weekend full of fun in Fairport, and Oktoberfest is at the center.
“We have two other large events. We have the Scarecrow Festival and the Plenaire put on by the Fairport Public Art Committee and all three of us planned to do this on this weekend as a celebration of having a great summer and a welcome to fall,” said Nancy Ragus, executive director at Fairport-Perinton Partnership.
