ROCHESTER, N.Y. – It is going to be another clear, calm and chilly night with high pressure overhead. Temperatures will be dropping into the lower 40s for many, and mid to upper 30s south of Rochester in the valleys of the Finger Lakes. Most will just wake up to a lot of dew on the ground, but a few select locations could potentially see some patchy frost. Once the sun comes up, we’ll warm back into the mid to upper 60s under nearly full sunshine, very similar to Wednesday and Thursday.
A developing Nor’easter will strengthen and move up the Mid-Atlantic coast and coastal New England on Saturday and Sunday. Cities along the coast will deal with high winds, heavy rain, and high surf, but we’ll see minor impacts locally. That being said, we’ll see the clouds thicken up a bit later in the day on Saturday. Sunday will be mostly cloudy, but mostly dry. Some showers may try to sneak in on Sunday, especially east of Rochester. But we’ll need to monitor the track of the low, as a westward push may lead to higher rain chances for Rochester on Sunday. We’ll keep you posted.
If you’re going to the Bills game on Sunday in Orchard Park, we’re still expecting dry weather with a fair amount of clouds and cool but pleasant temperatures. We’ll reach highs in the mid 60s. So it should be comfortable early fall weather for football on Sunday!
Looking ahead to next week, we’ll see a warming trend with temperatures back into the 70s by mid-week, with an increasing chance of some rain by Thursday.
