Police are searching for a teenage boy who is believed to have assaulted a young girl in a Chicago alley as she walked to her elementary school this week.
The incident happened just before 8 a.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of West 91st Street.
Police said a girl was walking to Fort Dearborn Elementary School when she said an unknown teen boy approached her “asking her questions.” The teen then forced the girl into an alley, where she was sexually assaulted, police said.
The teen was described as being between 13 and 14 years old, African American, with black dreads that had orange tips, police said. He has brown eyes and medium brown complexion, standing between 5 feet, 3 inches tall and 5 feet, 4 inches tall.
The teen was last seen wearing a black jacket, black long sleeve shirt with white writing, gray pants or sweatpants and carrying a clear school bookbag.
Police asked residents to be aware of the crime and alert family, friends or co-workers who may be in the area.
