ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) launched its 2026-27 season Wednesday at a news conference.
RPO announced a three-year contract extension for Music Director Andreas Delfs. The orchestra also announced the hiring of its new president, Tonya McBride-Robles.
Board members said she was chosen based on her experience and leadership.
“What I especially enjoy about this organization is there versatility. And a good proof in point was our last weekend. One night we had two standing ovations for contemporary music. And then less than 24 hours we had a standing ovation for hightened symphony. Now show me an orchestra that can pull that off in 24 hours,” Delfs said.
