PHELPS, N.Y. — Two people from Ontario County are facing charges after deputies say they overdosed on opioids while a child was in the house.
Deputies say they responded to a home on Thompson Station in Phelps Monday for a report of a man and woman passed out and unconscious in the yard.
When deputies got there, they say they found a woman unconscious in the passenger seat of her car. They say a man was also unconscious on the lawn mower in the front yard. Through investigations, deputies say they learned the two suffered from an opioid overdose.
The two were treated at a local hospital, and later released. They were also taken into custody for endangering the welfare of a child, as deputies say a 10-year-old was inside the house when both of them overdosed.
