ROCHESTER, N.Y. – It’s been quite gray and cool for two days now… Today we’ve struggled to reach even 60 degrees. Not exactly the way we wanted summer to end, but quite emblematic of the coming season. Fall officially arrives tomorrow, and it will be a better day. Before we get there however, expect the clouds to stick around overnight as temperatures dip down into the mid to upper 40s. Time to shut the windows!
A large region of high pressure will fight to push in from the northwest, and for Western New York it will be winning out against the lower pressure and clouds to our south, for the most part. Still some uncertainty, but it’s looking like skies will be partly to mostly sunny for the rest of the week with little to no rain in the forecast! It will still be cool for a few days, however, with highs gradually rising from the mid 60s to low 70s from tomorrow through the weekend.
Unfortunately for much of the northeast coast, that high pressure will actually aid in steering in a strong storm over the weekend, with whipping winds and persistent rain, but we should stay clear of any direct impacts. Temperatures look to slowly climb to or a little above normal over the next 8-14 days.
