A visibly distraught Williams was carted to the locker room, and the team ruled him out for the remainder of the game with a hamstring injury.
Still, the moment was a frightening one for Bears fans, who have higher expectations for the team than perhaps any year since 2006, the last time the Bears reached the Super Bowl.
The Bears will resume practices at Halas Hall on Thursday, with their next game set for September 28 against the Eagles.
