ROCHESTER, N.Y. — This year’s Rochester International Jazz Festival is over, but festival organizers are launching a new concert series.
The RIJF Innovation Jazz Series kicks off in October, and there will be a different concert each month, except for December, through May. All concerts will take place on Thursdays at The Theater at Innovation Square on 131 Chestnut St.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. for each concert. Seating is general admission, and all sets are 90 minutes. Here’s the schedule:
Oct. 15: The New York Voices (Farewell Tour) Nov. 5: The Groover Quartet Jan. 14: Connected with Richie Goods and Chien Chien Lu Feb. 1: John Pizzarelli Trio March 18: Bria Skonberg April 8: The Sergio Mendes Band May 6: Ulysses Owens Jr. and Generation YIndividual show tickets are $47.63, including all fees, and go on sale on Oct. 1.
