Joice Otero Rocha of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic career at Louisiana State University.

Rocha finaled in the 100 fly at the 2026 Junior Pan Pac Championships as she swam to a 1:00.59 for 6th, less than a second off of the 59.73 it took to medal. She also finished 8th in the 200 fly with a 2:18.23.
Back in May at Brazilian Nationals, she swam to lifetime best in both the 100 and 200 butterfly events. She was 4th in the 100 fly with a 59.38 and 2nd in the 200 fly in a 2:14.81.
Rocha’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:
100 fly: 59.38 (52.23) 200 fly: 2:14.81 (1:58.92) 100 free: 56.15 (49.14)The LSU women finished 5th out of 13 teams at the 2026 SEC Championships with 668.5 points, finishing just behind 4th place Alabama’s 689 points. Michaela De Villiers led the way for LSU with 66 individual points. The LSU women went on to finish 21st at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
Based on her best converted times, Rocha would have made the SEC ‘B’ final in the 100 fly and the ‘C’ final in the 200 fly. She is just off the 51.99 it took to earn an invite to 2026 NCAAs in the 100 butterfly.
Rocha will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2031 along with butterfly/backstroker Sydney LaBaugh and breaststroker Natalie Daum.
