Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Isabella Muir from Tomball, Texas, has made a verbal pledge to the admission process* at Princeton University for 2027-28. She wrote on social media:

“I am so honored to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Princeton University!!! I want to thank my family, friends, and coaches for supporting me throughout this whole process. I also want to thank Coach Abby for this opportunity to further my academic and athletic career! I’m so grateful for this next chapter in my life! #gotigers”.

A senior at Tomball High School, Muir swims for her school and for The Woodlands Swim Team. She is one of the best mid-distance freestylers in the class, for which we named her a “Best of the Rest” recruit on our list of top girls’ swimmers from the high school class of 2027.

In high school swimming, Muir competed e at the Texas UIL 6A State Swimming and Diving Championships in each of the last three years. As a freshman she swam the 50/100 free, as a sophomore it was the 100/200 free combination, and last season she took on the 200/500 free, placing 3rd (1:48.81) and 2nd (4:51.64), respectively.

At 2025 Winter Juniors West, she competed in the 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, and 200 fly, and finaled in the 200 free (19th) and 500 free (9th). She dropped 10.4 seconds in the 500 to hit a PB of 4:45.75, winning the B final by 2 full seconds, and she improved her 200 fly time by 3.4 seconds. At the Gulf Swimming LSC Senior Short Course Championships, she dropped another 1.3 seconds in the 200 fly to earn a PB of 2:02.15.

In long-course season this summer, Muir picked up a trio of best times at Austin Sectionals (58.96 100 free, 1:09.79 100 back, and 1:06.10 100 fly). She competed at US Nationals in the 200 free (PB of 2:04.76), 400 free, and 200 fly. A week later, she swam the 100 free, 200 free, 400 free (dropped 3.5 seconds for a PB of 4:18.04) and 200 fly at Summer Junior Nationals.

Muir will join a stacked Princeton class of 2031, along with swimmers Isabel Wu, Greta Myers, Nora McCarthy, Annabel Townsend, Claire Cheung, Dylan Liu, and diver Mira Wiegman. Her best times would already score in the ‘A’ final of the 500 free and the ‘B’ finals of the 200 free and 200 fly, at the Ivy League Championships. The Tigers won their 4th straight women’s title in 2026.

Best SCY times:

500 free – 4:45.75 200 free – 1:47.96 100 free – 51.17 200 fly – 2:02.15

*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.
