A 14-year-old girl was critically injured in a shooting early Saturday in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood, police said.
At around 2:26 a.m., police were called to a report of a person shot along South Laramie Avenue near West Jackson Boulevard. Once at the scene, officers saw a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire.
Nearby, they located a 14-year-old girl who had been shot in the face and chest.
She was rushed to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
