ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Former employees of a troubled Rochester nursing home are filing a class action lawsuit against the company.
The lawsuit demands the owners of Waterview Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation pay employees severance.
Waterview Heights is being forced to close because conditions at the center are putting residents in danger. It has already laid off employees while the home struggles to find new nursing homes for remaining residents.

Many of the workers were notified only days before layoffs began. But, federal law requires many employers to notify workers at least 60 days before laying them off, or pay them 60 days of severance.
